A fantastic early animation device, the praxinoscope was invented in 1876 to improve on the image quality of the more well-known zoetrope. A paper strip of pictures is placed around the outer edge facing inwards, and when the praxinoscope is spun, simply look at the mirrors in the middle to trick your eye into seeing the images as animated. Our praxinoscope comes with nine different animation strips, all illustrated by Bomo Art. The outside is decorated in their popular celestial design.
