Kelvin & Hughes Sextant
Based on a 1917 design, this Sextant is presented in a stylish wooden case with a glass lid.
Sextants were used for navigation in the golden days of seafaring, allowing seamen to measure the angle between two visible objects. The instrument would chiefly be used to determine the angle between a celestial object and the horizon - otherwise known as 'sighting' the object.
