The perfect present for the green-fingered gardener in your life; this gardening journal has a beautiful cover in green peacock-patterned hand-marbled paper.
The technique used to create the marbling requires great skill and precision, and has been used in Italy since the 17th century. A shallow basin is filled with a thick, vegetable-based liquid, and its surface is sprinkled with different colours. The craftsman creates patterns in these colours using combs or wooden rods, and then gently places the paper on the surface of the liquid without disturbing the design. It only takes a few seconds for the paper to absorb the colours, then the decoration is complete.
The journal starts with 10 pages of useful gardening information, such as yearly tasks to complete in particular months, pH levels in soil, bulb planting tables, and pruning hints. Then there are 70 pages for your own records, with space to plan and record planting and garden layout.
