A wonderful bit of old-fashioned gadgetry in three parts. The main body is a working compass, while the screw-off top has two more useful features. On the lid there is a hundred year calendar (2000 to 2099) - simply line up your chosen month and year and view the correct dates. We find it particularly exciting to work out what day of the week our next significant birthdays will fall on! On the underneath of the lid there is also a world time zone calculator: set it to the time where you are, and you can see the current time all over the world. Great fun and extremely unusual.
